Certificate III in Individual Support can lead you to a career in aged, community or disability care or to a career in a hospital. Assistants in Nursing (AIN’s) are highly sought after by public and private hospitals. This qualification can be your pathway to a diploma or a degree in nursing.

Jobs in health, aged care and disability care are leading Queensland’s employment growth into 2021.  24,000 – 29,000 new Queensland jobs are forecast to be generated in the healthcare and social assistance industry.

This course will provide you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to support people across the sector.

– Police checks
Industry standards state that all employees must have regular police checks done. You will need to present your current Police Check Certificate when you begin Vocational Placement and when you begin employment. Most employers now will only accept a Police Check if it was issued within the last 3 months. We will submit the Police Check for you as a part of your Certificate III course.

– QLD Blue Card
The majority of employers will require you to present a QLD Blue Card before they agree to Host you for Vocational Placement. We will submit the application on your behalf.

Vocational Placement
In order to complete the Certificate III in Individual Support you will need to undertake 120 hours of
Vocational Placement or Industry Employment. This gives you the opportunity to put the theory into practice and experience what a career in Community Services actually looks like.

The Care College team are constantly working with great Community Sector Employers to seek out opportunities for either employment or unpaid Vocational Placement for our students.

We provide a matching service for students, to link you with employers looking for great people. This is your chance to SHINE, show employers how professional you are, and kick start your career.

Course Content
The course units are selected with input from employers to ensure you cover the material which is most relevant for employment. The Certificate III course includes 13 units of which 7 are core units. The remaining 6 are selected to ensure you get a positive response from potential employers.
