Overview

This skill set is designed to assist those who are supporting people with a disability.  It is ideal for new workers, family members or carers of individuals with a disability.  This skillset can be a pathway to the Certificate III in Individual Support CHC33015.

Horizon2 currently only delivers this qualification to New Workers in the Disability industry sector, which includes parents and unpaid carers of NDIS participants. For more information about this please contact our team to discuss your situation.

Units of competency:

CHCCCS015 Provide individualised support

CHCCOM005 Communicate and work in health or community services

HLTWHS002 Follow safe work practices for direct client care

CHCDIS007 Facilitate the empowerment of people with disability

Qualifications will be completed via a combination of self-paced, study group or classroom session(s). The duration will vary dependant on the delivery style and training plan negotiated for each student. Where relevant, assessment of competency may involve recognition of prior learning or credit transfer if prior skills or certification is held.

Fees for the program vary dependant on whether the individual holds a concession card, whether there are credit transfers available.

Eligible students may be able to access funding from the QLD Government under Higher Level Skills funding. Co-contribution fees for the program vary dependant on whether the individual holds a concession card, whether there are credit transfers available.
