Overview
Diploma of Community Services reflects the roles of community services, case management and social housing workers involved in the managing, coordinating and/or delivering of person-centered services to individuals, groups and communities.
At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals. Workers may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management; program coordination or the development of new business opportunities.

To gain your qualification, you will need to undertake a minimum of 100 placement hours with a registered and approved community services agency. This allows you to gain practical industry and workplace experience where you will be taught how to apply the lessons you learned during your training.
The CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services (Youth & Family Welfare) requires sixteen (16) units to be completed for successful completion. Unit selection is comprised of eight (8) compulsory units and eight (8) elective units.

Qualifications can be completed via a combination of self-paced and study group. The duration will vary dependent on the delivery style and training plan negotiated for each student.
Where relevant assessment of competency may involve recognition of prior learning or credit transfer if prior skills or certification is held.
Fees for the program vary dependent on whether the individual holds a concession card, whether there are credit transfers available. Please contact our office to discuss your situation.
