CHC40313 - Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention

Overview

The Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention is designed to enable people who are keen to work with at Risk youth and families.  Due to industry requirements under the Child Safety Framework, this is considered by the sector as a compulsory qualification.  

Working in this field will provide opportunities to support children, youth and families shape their own lives and create a better future.

A vocational placement of no less than 120 hours and no more than 200 hours is required to complete this qualification. If you are not already employed in the industry, prior to placement you will need to complete a Criminal History Check (yellow card) and apply for a Blue Card (working with children check). 

In order to complete the Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention students will need to complete 16 units of competency comprising 10 mandatory core and 6 elective units. Elective units have been chosen to meet industry standards. Students wishing to specialise can select 2 specialised electives as specified below.

Qualifications can be completed via a combination of self-paced and study group. The duration will vary dependent on the delivery style and training plan negotiated for each student.

Where relevant assessment of competency may involve recognition of prior learning or credit transfer if prior skills or certification is held.

Fees for the program vary dependent on whether the individual holds a concession card, whether there are credit transfers available. Please contact our office to discuss your situation.
