CHC30121 – Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

Overview

The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care will provide you with the knowledge and skills to work in a range of child care settings with children ranging from new-borns to school age.

The course is focused on ensuring that educators in Children’s Services relate to children in a positive and professional way. Certificate III gives you the initial qualification you now need to work in the Child Care industry.

Many of the core units, can go towards the Diploma if you plan to do further studies after your Certificate III.

As part of your course you will need to complete 160 hours of vocational placement. This gives you the opportunity to put the theory into practice, and experience what a career in Child Care actually looks like.

Once you have received your Blue Card you can being your Vocational Placement while you are undertaking your theory components.

To work with Children in QLD you MUST have a Blue Card (Working with Children Check).  If you do not already have one Horizon2 can assist you with the application process.

The course units are selected with input from employers to ensure you cover the material which is most relevant for employment. The Certificate III course includes 17 units of which 15 are core units. The 2 elective units are selected from the list below, depending on which units best fit your client base and organisation.

As RPL is a self paced process you can start at a time arranged between you and your Trainer/Assessor.

Qualifications can be completed via a combination of self-paced, study group or classroom. The duration will vary dependent on the delivery style and training plan negotiated for each student.

Where relevant assessment of competency may involve recognition of prior learning or credit transfer if prior skills or certification is held.

Fees for the program vary dependent on whether the individual holds a concession card, whether there are credit transfers available. Please contact our office to discuss your situation
